Maximum “spring” effect on the driver face is best achieved with a forged Titanium surface. The material is light and strong and therefore we can make a face that is very thin and very resilient. The goal in the X-10 design is to increase the area on the face that has more rebound. Most forged Titanium faces are welded to the body of the metalwood around the edges of the face. That welding location creates a hard ring around the outer edges of the face which is not helpful in expanding the spring effect. The solution in the X-10 design is to move the weld location back .7 inches onto the top, side, and sole surfaces. That allows the corners of the face to maintain their resilience. The design increases the area on the face that has maximum rebound. The result is that more of the X-10 face can deliver the maximum distance. You do not have to hit this club dead-center to get better results off the tee. If your driver isn’t maximizing your tee shots, the X-10 will.
